Cardiac Rehabilitation
At Loring Hospital, the cardiac rehabilitation care team works closely with physicians to help patients with heart disease recover faster and return to the optimum level of health. Cardiac rehabilitation consists of individualized exercise training to safely strengthen muscles and education on disease management.
Each patient is unique and our care givers work closely with you to design care specific to your needs. Cardiac rehab is a safe and effective way to help you:

- Reduce risks of future heart problems
- Incorporate regular exercise into an everyday lifestyle
Who is eligible or can benefit from cardiac rehab?
Cardiac rehab is for men and women of all ages. You can benefit if you have or had:
- Stable angina
- Heart attack
- Bypass/valve surgery
- Balloon catheter (PTCA)
- Stent placement
- Heart transplant
- Congestive Heart Failure
How do I participate?
Being part of cardiac rehab is simple. Your physician will sign a doctor’s order for you to participate. The cardiac rehab staff contacts you to schedule your initial appointment. The sessions are approximately one hour, meeting either two or three days per week. The program usually lasts for four to twelve weeks depending on the participant’s activity level.
