Loring Hospital welcomes podiatrists of the Foot & Ankle Center of Iowa to its group of specialty clinic providers

Loring Hospital in Sac City is pleased to welcome Drs. Paul Dayton, Mindi Dayton, Jesseka Kaldenberg-Leppert, and Jeffrey Olson of the Foot & Ankle Center of Iowa to the hospital’s group of specialty clinic providers. The team will see patients at Loring Hospital on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month beginning Dec. 10.

It’s Not Too Late to Schedule Year-End Procedures

If you are planning on having elective surgery around the winter holidays, it’s best to schedule now as this is the time of year doctors’ schedules tend to fill up quickly. An elective surgery is a procedure that is planned in advance, rather than one that is done in an emergency situation. Common elective surgeries at Loring include colonoscopies, tonsillectomies, hernia repair, hysterectomy, and other surgeries that may not be deemed medically necessary. At Loring Hospital, general surgeries are the most common performed elective procedures, often done the last quarter of the year, once a patient has reached their deductible.

Bomgaars of Sac City is set to host its annual Ladies Night on Nov. 3, 2024, from 5-8 p.m., in which five percent of total sales will be donated to the Loring Healthcare Foundation. The night will include giveaways and a twenty percent discount on regular-priced merchandise.

This seminar, presented by one of Loring Hospital’s Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counselors, LeAnn Olhausen, will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. Please note that due to construction at the hospital, the seminar will take place at Loring Hospital’s temporary meeting site located at 119 N. Fifth St., Sac City. Light refreshments will be available for attendees

Olhausen Receives Award from Governor

Loring Hospital Welcomes New Occupational Therapist

Loring Hospital’s Rehab Services Department recently welcomed Jessie Dentlinger, occupational therapist (OT), to the team in May. Dentlinger, who grew up in Breda, Iowa, but spent a great deal of time in Sac City growing up while visiting her grandparents, graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She then went on to earn her doctorate in occupational therapy at Creighton University.

LSVT BIG® Treatment Offered at Loring Hospital for Those with Parkinson's

Loring Hospital’s Rehab Services Department is now offering LSVT BIG treatment for persons with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions. LSVT BIG is a physical therapy program that has been proven to improve motor function. Improvements include faster walking with bigger steps, improved balance, better flexibility, reduced risk of falling, and more.
