Loring Hospital Participates in National Age-Friendly Health Systems Initiative

Loring Hospital in Sac City is pleased to announce that it is part of a movement to improve health care for older adults, contributing to a goal of continuing to expand and grow age-friendly care. It was the first hospital in the State of Iowa to be recognized as an Age-Friendly Health Systems participant.

Are you going to be eligible for Medicare in the near future? Have you been on Medicare for a while and want to better understand what it offers? Do you have a family member you help with Medicare issues? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Loring Hospital encourages you to attend an upcoming “Welcome to Medicare” seminar. This seminar, presented by one of Loring Hospital’s Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counselors, LeAnn Olhausen, will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. The seminar will take place in Loring Hospital’s main conference room located in the hospital at 211 Highland Avenue, Sac City. Light refreshments will be available for attendees.

Loring Hospital’s Wound Clinic Celebrates Tenth Anniversary

This year marks a significant milestone for Loring Hospital's Outpatient Center Wound Care Clinic as it celebrates 10 years of dedicated service to Sac County and surrounding communities. Since opening its doors in 2016, the clinic has provided life-changing wound care treatments, helping more than 5,700 patients – many of whom face complications from diabetes, poor circulation, and other chronic conditions – on their road to healing.

Chamber Coffee at Loring Hospital to welcome orthopedic surgeon Dr. Prashanth Anand

Loring Hospital in Sac City is set to host a Chamber Coffee event on April 9 at 9:30 a.m. to welcome orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Prashanth Anand, to its team of outpatient specialty providers. Dr. Anand, who is a physician of CNOS, PC, and works at UnityPoint Health in Fort Dodge, sees patients at Loring Hospital on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.

Loring Hospital Opens Mental Health Program for Older Adults

Loring Hospital in Sac City has partnered with Senior Life Solutions to help older adults who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, or other mental challenges often associated with aging. The new Senior Life Solutions program is located at Loring Hospital in Sac City.

Loring Hospital welcomes orthopedic surgeon Dr. Prashanth Anand

Loring Hospital is pleased to welcome board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Prashanth Anand of the Center for Neurosciences, Orthopedics & Spine (CNOS), to its team of outpatient specialty providers. Dr. Anand will begin seeing patients at Loring Hospital on the second and fourth Thursday of each month beginning Jan. 22.

Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards program recognizes top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes, and/or Patient Perspective.

Bomgaars to Host Event Benefitting Loring Healthcare Foundation

Bomgaars of Sac City is set to host its annual Ladies Night on Nov. 2, 2025, from 5-8 p.m., in which five percent of total sales will be donated to the Loring Healthcare Foundation. The night will include giveaways and a twenty percent discount on regular-priced merchandise.
