Workouts from Rehab Services to Stay Active while Socially Distancing

Social distancing can make it challenging to maintain a physically active lifestyle since many of us are spending more time at home and outside of our normal routines. To help us all stay active, Loring Hospital’s Rehab Department has put together a series of exercises specially designed for kids, teens/adults, and seniors! Please see below for directions for each workout. Remember, it’s more important than ever to prioritize your physical, mental, and emotional health!    

Kids Workout

2 Laps Bear Crawl

20 Jumping Jacks

1 Lap Crab Walk

10 Jumps

2 Laps Tip Toe Walking

5 Get Ups

30 Second Flamingo (each leg for 1 minute total)

2 Minute Rest. Repeat 3x

Teen/Adult Workout

50 Jumping Jacks

10 Push Ups

10 Burpees

25 Squats

15 Left Lunges

15 Right Lunges

60 Second Plank

2 min rest.  Repeat 3x

Older Adults 

Marching (standing or sitting)

Step Forward with Arm Swing

Stepouts with Side Bend

Mini Squats or Sit to Stand

Trunk Rotation

1 min each. Repeat 3x.  Rest for 2 min in between
