Are you going to be eligible for Medicare in the near future?  Have you been on Medicare for a while and want to better understand what it offers? Do you have a family member you help with Medicare issues?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, Loring Hospital encourages you to attend an upcoming “Welcome to Medicare” seminar. This seminar, presented by one of Loring Hospital’s Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counselors, LeAnn Olhausen, will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. Please note that due to construction at the hospital, the seminar will take place at Loring Hospital’s temporary meeting site located at 119 N. Fifth St., Sac City. Light refreshments will be available for attendees.

The “Welcome to Medicare” seminar will cover Medicare Part A and Part B benefits, the prescription drug benefit (Part D), Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplement insurance. For additional information or to register, please call Olhausen directly at 712-662-6406 by Sept. 3.

“We’re excited to offer this free seminar to the community,” said Olhausen, who is also Loring Hospital’s social worker. “Medicare is such an important program and understanding what it offers helps assure that anyone eligible gets the health benefits they deserve,” she added.
