"Mental Health Matters" Event Scheduled for Oct. 29
October 26, 2021
The Loring Hospital Auxiliary is sponsoring an educational program entitled, “Mental Health Matters,” at 10 a.m. on Oct. 29 at the Sac Community Center in Sac City. The event will feature guest speaker Aaron McHone, who is the operations director for the Behavioral Health Service Line at UnityPoint Health.
In an effort to reduce the stigma that is associated with mental illness and provide valuable resources and information to the community, the program will cover a multitude of mental health-related topics. McHone, who has worked in behavioral healthcare for more than 20 years, will discuss basic mental health facts and information, symptoms, services, treatment options, the effects of mental health due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and much more.
McHone joined UnityPoint Health in 2013, where he has served as regional executive director, regional organized system of care director, and regional vice president of Behavioral Health Services. McHone, who accepted his current role earlier this year, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northwestern in St. Paul and a Master of Business Administration from Iowa State University. He is also a graduate of UnityPoint Health’s Management Leadership Academy.
The program is open to the public at no cost. Light refreshments will be provided for all attendees. For questions or to RSVP to this free event, call 712-662-6419.
