Loring Hospital Recognized with 2025 Performance Leadership Award by The Chartis Center for Rural Health

Loring Hospital in Sac City has earned a 2025 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Quality and Outcomes. Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards program recognizes top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes, and/or Patient Perspective.

“This recognition is a reflection of the ongoing commitment to providing quality, compassionate care close to home,” said Matt Johnson, chief executive officer at Loring Hospital. “Every member of the Loring Hospital team plays a vital role in ensuring our patients receive the best possible care, and we are immensely proud to see those efforts recognized on a national level.”

The Performance Leadership Awards program is based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, a comprehensive and objective framework for assessing how rural hospitals are performing. INDEX benchmarks are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure performance across multiple areas impacting hospital operations and finance.

“The areas of quality, outcomes, and patient perspective are cornerstones of healthcare delivery across rural America, and this year’s Performance Leadership Award recipients are establishing a standard of excellence for their rural peers to follow,” added Michael Topchik, executive director of The Chartis Center for Rural Health.

“The unwavering commitment of our team members has without a doubt contributed to Loring Hospital achieving these designations,” added Johnson. “We are honored to be recognized for our daily commitment to providing quality care to residents of Sac County and beyond.”
