Loring Hospital Auxiliary Offers Healthcare Scholarships

Loring Hospital Auxiliary scholarship

The Loring Hospital Auxiliary is accepting applications from area high-school seniors and non-high school aged students for a $500 scholarship award. This marks nearly 20 years that the Loring Hospital Auxiliary has offered scholarships for local high-school seniors and adults who are returning to school to pursue a healthcare-related career.

“Ultimately the goal of this scholarship program is to help alleviate local healthcare shortages by encouraging and supporting all ages of students who want to pursue a career in nursing,” said Shelly Crump, co-chair of the Loring Hospital Auxiliary.

In order to qualify for the award, applicants must be a Sac County resident or in the Loring Hospital service territory graduating from high-school this spring. Applicants must be furthering their education in a health care field (not including CNA coursework). Applications can be obtained by visiting www.loringhosp.org and clicking on “About” and then selecting “Loring Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship.” Information is also available from area guidance counselors.

Along with their completed application, all applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from non-family members and include a current resume. The Loring Hospital Auxiliary Scholarships are a one-time award given annually. Application materials must be mailed to Loring Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Committee, 211 Highland Ave, Sac City IA 50583, by April 15, 2012.
