LORING HOSPITAL AUXILLARY OFFERS HEALTH CARE SCHOLARSHIPS

The Loring Hospital Auxiliary is accepting applications from area high-school seniors for $500 scholarship awards. The Loring Auxiliary has offered scholarships for many years to graduating seniors in their service area. Scholarships are for candidates who are pursuing healthcare and healthcare-related careers.

“Ultimately the goal of this scholarship program is to help alleviate local healthcare shortages by encouraging students who want to pursue a career in any healthcare related field,” said Nancy Houska, Loring Hospital public relations director and a member of the Loring Auxiliary.

In order to qualify for the award, applicants must be a Sac County resident or live in Loring Hospital’s service area, graduating from high-school this spring and must be entering a healthcare field (not including CNA coursework). Applications can be obtained by visiting www.loringhospital.org and clicking on the “About” tab and then selecting “Loring Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship.” Information is also available from area guidance counselors.

Along with their completed application, all applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from non-family members and include a current resume. The Loring Hospital Auxiliary Scholarships are a one-time award given annually. Please mail application materials to Loring Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Committee, c/o Loring Hospital, 211 Highland Ave, Sac City IA 50583, by April 15.
