Loring Hospital Auxiliary to Host Annual Trivia Night

Trivia Night March 28, 2020

The Loring Hospital Auxiliary’s Fourth Annual Trivia Night is scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at the 4-H Building located on the Sac County Fairgrounds. In addition to a night full of trivia and fun, the event will include a silent auction – all to help raise funds for the Auxiliary, which in turn supports Loring Hospital. Doors open at 6 p.m. with trivia kicking off at 7 p.m.

To date, donated silent auction items include Iowa State University and South Dakota State football tickets, tickets to the Russian String Orchestra, a waterpark and overnight package to King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort, a variety of gift cards and gift baskets from local businesses, and much more.

This year, the Sac County Fair Board will also have sandwiches and hotdogs available for a free will donation. Donated proceeds will go toward the Raise the Roof building campaign—an effort to raise funds for a new show ring and cattle/sheep barn at the Sac County Fairgrounds.  A cash bar and free snacks will also be available throughout the evening for those in attendance.

Tables for up to ten people can be reserved for $150 by contacting Karen Blass at 712-660-7624 or Shelly Crump at 573-366-3656. Spectators are also welcome to attend for $5. Those interested in donating an item for the silent auction may contact Mary Klindt at 712-662-4608.

Over the last 10 years, the Auxiliary has purchased more than $45,000 of medical equipment and other healthcare items for Loring Hospital. Funds raised through the Auxiliary benefit a number of projects and initiatives, including granting “wish list” items annually to Loring Hospital departments.

In the past year alone, the Auxiliary purchased a shoulder wheel for Rehab Services, a twin well warmer for Food Services, a new drawing chair for the Laboratory, fitness equipment for Respiratory Therapy, a laptop for Health Information Services, a Type 2 diabetes complications set and muscle replicas for Nutritional Services/Diabetes Education, and a scale for Outpatient/Same Day Surgery.

The Auxiliary also funds community education events throughout the year, sponsors employee appreciation massages each year for Loring staff, assembles “busy bags” with activities and comfort items for pediatric patients, and more.

Next up, the Auxiliary will host the organization’s Annual May Luncheon, which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5 at the Sac City Presbyterian Church from noon to 1 p.m.  This annual event also helps support projects and programs at Loring Hospital.
