Loring Hospital is set to host a “snack and learn” event entitled, “Expert Foot and Ankle Care,” at 2 p.m. on March 19 at the hospital’s downtown meeting space located at 119 North Fifth Street in Sac City. The event will feature guest speaker, Dr. Mindi Dayton, DPM, MHA, FACFAS, who will share her extensive expertise in foot and ankle health.

Dr. Dayton, a board-certified podiatrist, hails from rural eastern Iowa and has dedicated her career to advancing foot and ankle care. She earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University and completed her surgical residency at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. In 2017, alongside her husband, Dr. Paul Dayton, she established the Foot & Ankle Center of Iowa (FACI) with a mission to provide innovative, evidence-based treatments for foot and ankle conditions. Their clinic is renowned for pioneering techniques in bunion surgery, particularly the Lapiplasty® 3D Bunion Correction.

During her visit, Dr. Dayton will discuss the comprehensive services that FACI offers, now accessible to Sac City and neighboring residents at Loring Hospital. These services encompass a wide range of treatments for foot and ankle ailments, ensuring that patients receive top-tier care close to home.

In addition to outlining available services, Dr. Dayton will provide valuable insights on maintaining optimal foot health. Her presentation will cover:

  • Shoe Selection: Guidance on choosing footwear that supports foot structure and function.
  • Injury Prevention: Strategies to avoid common foot and ankle injuries.
  • Overall Foot Health Maintenance: Tips to keep your feet healthy, comfortable, and pain-free.

Dr. Dayton is eager to address your foot health concerns and answer any questions you may have. This event is a unique chance to learn from a leading specialist committed to enhancing patient outcomes through education and personalized care.

The program is open to the public at no cost. Light refreshments will be provided for all attendees. For questions, please contact Teresa Wirtjers at 712-662-6419 or twirtjers@loringhosp.org.
