Free Mammograms Offered at Loring through Susan G. Komen Grant08/09/2012
Loring Hopsital has been awarded a $16,850 grant from the Susan G. Komen® Des Moines Affiliate for the expansion of their breast cancer education and awareness program called “You’re Worth It”. “You’re Worth It” involves breast health and breast cancer education, outreach, screening, and treatment support targeted to women in the Loring Hospital service area, along with our 4th year of mammogram parties.
A major component of the grant allows for fifteen women who qualify financially to receive a mammogram and a follow-up physicians’ visit free of charge. Applicants must meet certain income guidelines to qualify for free services. Loring Hospital will be working with several organizations in the county to educate women about breast cancer and this free service for low-income women.
Family Size/Income Guidelines
For those who qualify for a free mammogram, Loring will also help them coordinate with a Tri-Mark clinic doctor to set an appointment for review of the mammogram results. For more information, contact the Loring Radiology Department at 712-662-6343 or for financial guideline questions contact Jan Cessford at Loring Hospital, 712-662-7015.
