LORING HOSPITAL'S CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENDS
Loring Hospital thanks everyone who donated to the capital campaign, which ended in April of 2009. Our construction project ended in September of 2009. Our fundraising efforts never end. Loring Hospital will always accept donations in memory of a loved one or if you just want to help continually improve our facility and equipment. Our donor wall continues. Every gift of $1000 or more will go on our donor board near the new front lobby. If you wish to make a donation to Loring Hospita, please contact Nancy Houska, Loring Development Director, at 712-662-7105 ext. 6421.
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN EXCEEDS $1.3 MILLION GOAL
The Loring Healthcare Foundation and Loring Hospital are pleased to announce they have exceeded their campaign fundraising goal of $1.3 million dollars. Donations or pledges have been made by 430 donors, totaling just over $1.4 million.
"People in the communities we serve, have stepped up to help us make a difference in the healthcare facility in our county," stated Mike Green, chairman of the Loring board of directors. "Thank you to every business and individual who has contributed or pledged to this worthwhile project."
Loring has been raising money for the last fifteen months for their $10 million construction and renovation project. The funds raised through the campaign have and will be used to offset construction costs and for unforeseen construction costs, such as refurbishing the elevator and repairs to the north wing roof.
The construction project features a renovation of 20,664 square feet and an addition of 14,320 square feet. Included in the project are twenty-five private patient rooms, a new lobby, state-of the art Surgical Center and Imaging Center. Renovated areas at Loring Hospital include an enlarged Emergency Department, Laboratory, business and administration offices. The entire project will be complete later this summer.
A steering committee comprised of Dr. David Youberg, Frank Strain, Tom DeVries, Milo and Sally Lines, Steve Spotts, LaRue Schade, Steve Irwin and Dan and Kay Martin along with several other volunteers were instrumental in the campaign by contacting local individuals and businesses. Throughout the fifteen months of the campaign, this dedicated group of individuals donated their time for the future of Loring Hospital and been responsible for many of the donations Loring has received.
The Loring building campaign has officially ended. The future focus of the Loring Healthcare Foundation will be to raise funds through the annual Loring Fore Health golf event, an annual appeal and other fundraising opportunities. The Foundation is the charitable gift and fundraising arm of the Loring Hospital. Future charitable donations will be for the Endowment, equipment and other needs of Loring Hospital. All gifts are tax deductible as provided by law.

A new front entry and lobby area provide more seating and comfort for patients and visitors.
